It is mandatory for a Pakistan passport holder to apply for a visitor visa or Temporary resident visa (TRV) for Canada. However, before applying for a visa, you should meet a few requirements set by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations of Canada.

1. Financial subsistence to cover your trip and support your dependants if there are accompanying.

2. Convince that you’ll leave Canada at the end of your stay

3. Will not work or study in Canada unless it is legal or authorized

4. No record of criminal activity or be a risk to the safety of the country

5. Present any additional documents on request officer to establish your acceptability

6. Good Health (complete a medical examination if needed)

Letter from the employer

Original letter from your employer on company letterhead with a format adhering to the guidelines giving a brief introduction and the employment status of the applicant. Businesspersons should provide a copy of their trade license whereas, students must provide their proof of admission in the university along with their parents’ consent letter that is authorised by a visa officer for unaccompanied minors (below 18 yrs.) or details of U.A.E visa sponsorship if any. Invitation from the friends or family if any – Details of your host in Canada including copies of proof of their residence in Canada


Recent photograph

2 recent (not older than 6 months) good quality original photographs that comply with specifications. (50 mm wide X 70 mm high)


Biometrics is collected at the VFS global centre in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. Please know that you need to book an appointment to submit. You usually do not need a medical exam If your visit is for less than 6 months. Always remember to use a certified translator to translate your documents if they’re not in English or French.
